For a long time, fans have been eagerly waiting for YouTube personality Logan Paul to duke it out with Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match. After it was delayed earlier in the year, the match was finally confirmed by Logan Paul.
The hype surrounding the megafight is only building up with each passing day and it certainly has gotten to Logan Paul’s head. Paul previously made a bold declaration that he will knock out Floyd Mayweather in the upcoming megafight.
However, now it seems Logan Paul doesn’t want to just do boxing anymore and is interested in stepping into the MMA world. While speaking to Showtime’s Mauro Ranallo, Logan Paul revealed that plans on transitioning over to MMA for at least one fight and maybe more after that.
“Yeah, absolutely. I actually think I’d probably be better at MMA because of my wrestling background. I’m going to do at least one [MMA fight]. And if I win? I’ll probably do another.”
Ranallo had revealed that Paul met with Bellator MMA president Scott Coker last year, which might have been about a potential MMA fight. Paul also respects the sport as a whole and is well aware of how difficult it is.
“I will say, it is a tough sport. It’s a lot harder than boxing. MMA fighters are legitimate all-around 360 degree fighters. I’ve had some knee issues on both knees…but I can’t not do one MMA fight before I die.”
Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather is set to take place on June 6 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. We will have to see if Mayweather will dominate the fight or if Paul will somehow come up with the upset victory.
