Akon’s Car Stolen While Pumping Gas In Atlanta

Update: Akon’s car has been recovered on Tuesday morning as reported by Complex.

Akon remains one of the most popular singers in the music industry right now, whose songs have defined the last decade or so. It seems Atlanta isn’t the best place to be if you have a car. A few weeks ago, Ludacris’ car was stolen from an Atlanta bank after he left the car running in the parking lot but would manage to get it back eventually.

Now it seems Akon is the latest victim of car theft, as his car seeming got stolen while he was pumping gas in Buckhead. According to 11Alive, Akon was filling up his white Range Rover and left the car running.

Akon’s car was stolen right after that and currently, police officers are going through surveillance footage and trying to find the suspects who were responsible for stealing Akon’s beloved car. Atlanta police have also requested people to not leave their cars running as auto thefts are said to have spiked by 47% since last 2020.

“Any time you stop your vehicle and you leave your vehicle for just a split second, please turn your vehicle off and take your keys with you and secure your vehicle. We’re having far too many vehicles stolen because we are leaving our vehicles running.”

Akon has yet to make a public statement regarding the theft of his vehicle. It is truly unfortunate for Akhon that this happened to him and we hope that he will be able to recover his car soon enough. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
