Lindsay Lohan’s New Netflix Movie Accused Of Being A Rip-Off

Lindsay Lohan is set to star in an upcoming Netflix romantic comedy, but the plot is very familar. Some fans are calling out this upcoming Christmas movie for being an Overboard rip-off.

Netflix made the big announcement that Lohan will be starring in a new rom-com. The way the company described the plot sounded a lot like a movie that has already been remade.

Lindsay Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident

“Didn’t they already remake Overboard?” one fan asked. Another quipped that this move sounds like “Overboard in the snow.”

Hollywood is having trouble coming up with new stories. There are enough new stories out there, but executives won’t invest money in something unless it is proven to work. Overboard is apparently a good enough template to rip off.
