John Cena is a man of integrity and is well respected by fans and pro wrestlers alike. However, after his recent apology to China for calling Taiwan a country, it seems he has been dragged by many on social media.
Many people felt that John Cena became China’s lapdog and ”bowed” down to his overlords. To came to such a point that even CM Punk, who has history with Cena, take a direct shot at him by having his Twitter bio read, ”Taiwan is a country.”
Now it seems John Cena’s apology to China has not been received well backstage in WWE as reported by Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast. He said that Cena’s apology has made him get backstage heat in the company.
“This John Cena apology is NOT going over well at WWE right now…”
Zarian has broken a good few stories as of late, particularly NXT moving to Tuesdays. John Cena hasn’t been seen since his Firefly Funhouse match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36, but he could be returning in July around the time of WWE welcoming back live fans again. We will have to see if John Cena will make his WWE return in July.
