Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson needs no introduction when it comes to the pro wrestling world as he is still regarded as one of the all-time greats. He is also a dominant force in Hollywood and brings huge star power to any film he acts in. The Rock is also a businessman and a very conniving one at that.
The WWE on FOX Twitter handle recently tried to get fans to discuss a topic and so they simply asked fans which WWE Superstar they immediately think of when they say the WWE Smackdown logo.
Who is the first @WWE Superstar you think of when you see this logo?
Several fans mentioned The Rock, as many believed that it was The Rock who coined the term ‘Smackdown’ in the first place. However, it seems that wasn’t really the case.
The Rock took to Twitter and replied to WWE on FOX’s post, where he revealed that Harvey Wippleman (real name Bruno Lauer) coined the name “SmackDown” and is responsible for the term making it to Webster’s dictionary.
Well clearly the dude who coined the name Smackdown in the first place and eventually, made it so famous it’s now in the Webster’s dictionary…and his name is Downtown Br
Harvey Wippleman had helped The Rock tremendously after he and his mother got evicted off the island of Hawaii. To pay him back for all the help, The Rock bought Wippleman a new car last year. Wipplemain currently remains a worker in WWE in a backstage role and it is great to see The Rock acknowledge those who helped him become what he is.
