Jon Jones is one of the most popular fighters in the history of the UFC. For the past couple of months, Jones had been gunning for Francis Ngannou’s UFC Heavyweight Championship.
Jones had revealed in the past that he felt undervalued and simply wanted to be paid better. Unfortunately for Jones, it was previously stated that he will not be facing Ngannou anytime soon as Ngannou will be facing Derrick Lewis this Summer.
UFC President Dana White also recently stated that he is moving on from Jon Jones’ chapter and that is not changing. Jones hasn’t competed since defeating Dominick Reyes by decision at UFC 247 back in February 2020.
While speaking on the “MMA Roasted” podcast, Jon Jones’ former teammate from Iowa Central Community College and former UFC welterweight interim champion Colby Covington trolled Jon Jones, stating that he doesn’t have the ‘right juice’ to compete at the Heavyweight division anymore and is just trying to get one more cash grab before Jones calls it quits.
“No, he’s not fighting at heavyweight, man. He’s done, he doesn’t have the right scientist, the right juice to do it anymore. He knows he’s done. He’s trying to get one more cash grab and hope that it’s so much money that he never has to do anything but I don’t think he’s ever fighting again. I just don’t see it.”
“If he wanted a fight, he would have fought already. He would have went back to light heavyweight and fought Jan [Blachowicz] or something. But he’s too small for heavyweight man. He’s just looking to get a big cash grab with Francis…but he knows he’s going to get knocked out so he’s trying to get as much money as he can to take that ass beating.”
Jon Jones also made it clear that he is fine waiting another year until Jones gets to compete in the Octagon again. We will have to see who Jones’ opponent will be whenever he fights again.
