Cuba Gooding Jr. has been avoiding the bartender’s lawsuit who claimed that he had pinched her butt. After the actor failed to respond to the summon in court for over a year, the grope accuser has by default won the lawsuit against the actor.
Gooding was sued by the accuser Natasha Ashworth on October 2019, when she was working as a bartender at the Tao Downtown Nightclub. She sued the actor claiming that he had attempted to pinch her behind multiple times.
While the 53-year old actor was faced with the lawsuit and didn’t move on to respond to his summoning for over a year, Ashworth was forced to move forward with filing an appeal to a default judgment in her favor in January.
While Justice Alexander Tisch from the Manhattan Supreme Court allowed the case to be a default win in the favor of Ashworth on the charges of battery & assault, she refused the judgment for the claim of infliction of emotional distress on the basis of citing redundancy.
Even though Gooding has lost the court by failing to show up, he still has at least 30 other sexual assault accusations from other women, even being accused of rape two times by a woman in August. While his attorney Mark Heller states that “the claim is baseless and the judgment is worthless,” the court records show that he doesn’t even has an attorney assigned to the case. The Academy Award Winning actor is known for his role in Jerry McGuire.
