Chyna was a force to be reckoned with during her time in WWE in the late ’90s. The WWE Hall Of Famer debuted at WWE In Your House in 1996, where she was a bodyguard for Triple H and Shawn Michaels of D-Generation X.

Chyna found great success in the company, breaking down several barriers for female wrestlers. However, as successful as she was in WWE, her life after the WWE was very depressing to say the least.

According to ComicBook, it seems a documentary based on her life is set to air on VICE TV. The documentary titled Vice Versa: Chyna is the first-ever documentary about the rise and fall of the wrestling superstar and is fully authorized as well.

The two-hour documentary will provide fans with a very detailed look into the life of Joanie Laurer’s rise to superstardom and eventual fall from grace, which all led to her tragic passing in 2016. The new documentary will be directed by Marah Strauch and will premiere on Thursday, June 17th. The director also explained what the documentary will highlight.

“Joanie aka Chyna’s meteoric rise and fall is the stuff of Shakespearian drama, but underneath all that flash, she was an intelligent and sensitive person who struggled with addiction. This documentary will give viewers an intimate and unfiltered view of her personal journey as a pop culture icon and beyond and will compassionately tell the true story of Chyna’s last year of life.”

Chyna’s contributions to the pro wrestling world are still being felt to this day and they will never be forgotten. We will have to see just how well the upcoming documentary based on her life will be received.
