WWE confirmed that SummerSlam will take place in Las Vegas on August 21st this year. That is a very interesting time because Manny Pacquiao is also making his return to boxing on that same night in the same city.
WWE’s biggest party of the summer won’t be the hottest ticket in town with that huge boxing match going on. It will also draw away from greater public interest.
According to PW Insider, WWE has said that SummerSlam will be over by the time Pacquiao vs Spence Jr starts. Those fans who wish to attend both events may do so according to how WWE is working things out.
We are told that WWE’s plan is to conclude Summerslam with enough time for fans to be able to attend that fight in the same city if they choose or at the very least, be able to watch Pacquiao’s fight after WWE’s broadcast concludes.
Odds are Manny Pacquiao and Spence Jr won’t even hit the ring until around 11:30 PM to midnight EST.
We will have to see how WWE facilitates this situation, but they seem well away that Manny Pacquiao is fighting in the same city that they are holding their big SummerSlam event. Of course, WWE can’t guarantee that traffic will allow fans to attend both events, but this is a very interesting promise that the biggest party of the summer will be over before Manny Pacquiao starts his fight.
