On June 6, Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul finally squared off against each other inside a boxing ring. The match was many months in the making and fans were certainly hyped for it.
For many, the boxing match proved to be worth their money as both Paul and Mayweather stuck it out for 8 rounds, with Logan Paul surprisingly going the distance with Mayweather. Ultimately no winner was declared as it was an unsanctioned match, but both fighters were winners in the end due to all the money they earned.
While Mayweather is slated to earn around $100 million, Logan Paul earned $20 million which is certainly an exorbitant amount of money in its own right. UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou reacted to the match as he took to Twitter and wondered just what MMA fighters are doing wrong to not get paid as much as Logan Paul.
It’s crazy to think that Logan Paul (0-1) just made $20M on a boxing exhibition. WHAT ARE WE DOING WRONG?
One of the biggest complaints from UFC over the years is regarding the promotion not paying their fighters properly. Jon Jones, in particular, has demanded he get paid a proper amount of money to compete in big fights. Jake Paul has constantly called out Dana White over this fact. We will have to see if MMA fighters will be paid the money they rightfully deserve one day.
