Elizabeth Olson from Marvel’s critically acclaimed series WandaVision, which became one of the most successful mini-series from Marvel, has revealed that it will not be getting a second season.
The actress, who plays Wanda or better known as her superhero alias, Scarlet Witch, participated in the Variety series called actors on actors with the Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco. The two broke off the ice with nice remarks. Olson revealed to Cuoco that she binged on her interviews as preparation.
Kaley asked her two questions, which were a) has she been keeping up with the fan-theories of the show? and b) would there be a season two for the show? Unfortunately, Olson’s reply to both the questions was in the negative.
In order to explain, Olson said that there weren’t any plans for the show to have a second season to begin with. They did it to do justice to Wanda’s processing of the trauma that she had incurred, while paying homage to a variety of tropes.
However, she didn’t completely rule out the possibility of WandaVision’s season 2. She commented:
Marvel projects are always an adjustment. There are constant rewrites all the time. I don’t know. I mean, with Marvel, you can never say no. People die, people.
While fans are hung up on the show’s season 2, Marvel’s Loki premiered on Disney+ recently, which gives fans much to look forward to, and who knows that it might end up creating an angle for WandaVision’s season 2. As Olson says, “With Marvel, you can never say no.”
