2018’s Aquaman starring Jason Mamoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry had a tremendous reception, both critically and commercially and was touted as one of the best films produced under the DCEU banner. It has earned over $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office, making it the most successful DCEU film currently.
The sequel to the film, Aquaman 2, will see Mamoa reprise his role of Arthur Curry and also Amber Heard will be returning to portray Meera, which fans certainly aren’t too happy about. Willem Dafoe is also likely to return as Vulko.
While details regarding the film have been under wraps, now it seems more details have finally been revealed. Director James Wan took to Instagram and revealed the title and logo for the upcoming sequel film.
The tide is rising.
So now we know the film is called Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom and it is likely more details regarding the story will be revealed to fans soon enough. Jason Mamoa had previously revealed that the sequel will start filming in July. The film is slated to release in December of 2022 and we will have to see if it will far surpass the original in every way.
