WWE’s Plan To Change Roman Reigns’ Character

Roman Reigns is the current WWE Universal Champion and is one of the top Superstars in the company right now. He has proven himself to be an excellent champion with great character work and in-ring skills.

Roman Reigns’ reinvention as a heel has truly shown just how good he can be both as an in-ring performer and character. Roman Reigns was outright rejected by the WWE Universe when he was pushed as a top babyface for several years.

However, it seems WWE has a long term plan for Reigns. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the company is planning on turning Reigns back into a babyface despite him being one of the biggest heels right now.

“Roman Reigns and Kenny Omega are essentially the same character in the sense that they are heels who are being groomed to be the top babyface star down the line of the promotion. AEW is at least trying to book in a way to make the matches exciting and WWE is trying to book Roman Reigns and tell you ‘eh it doesn’t matter, he’s gonna kill the guy.’

It was previously reported that Vince McMahon wants to protect Roman Reigns at all costs and that is exactly what will happen. Reigns could be getting a ‘babyface explosion’ eventually and we will have to see just when that will happen.
