Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are over and she’s gone through quite a lot over the last year. Now she has a new inspirational tattoo to get her through the day.
Page Six grabbed a photo of the 46 year old actress’ new ink. She added a quote from astronomer Galileo Galilei to her forearm. That tattoo was first visible during her trip to NYC last week, but it’s unknown exactly when Jolie sat down for some needle therapy.
“The design reads “eppur si muove,” which translates to “and yet it moves” in Italian,” Page Six reports. The quote goes back all the way to 1633. At the time Galilei was forced to recant his accurate statement that the Earth revolves around the Sun. It does, but they didn’t like hearing his science back then.
This quote now serves as a statement that we shall prevail over whatever the current affliction might be. According to the report, Jolie was also dressed for a casual day in NYC when they snapped this photo.
The design peeked out from beneath the sleeve of Jolie’s white Everlane T-shirt ($18), which she wore with a gray midi skirt and Salvatore Ferragamo mules ($595).
Now Angelina Jolie has that phrase on her arm to provide that little extra bit of motivation in a moment when she might need it. It’s a nice little tattoo, if we do say so ourselves.
