Megan Thee Stallion is one of the most popular female rappers in the Hip-Hop world right now. She won four Grammys at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony and it seems the rapper is just getting started.
Megan Thee Stallion is also a very controversial figure in the Hip-Hop world after her collab of WAP with Cardi B was met with a lot of backlash from fans. This included a lot of criticism from Republican politician DeAnna Lorraine.
Megan Thee Stallion dropped her latest music video called “Thot Shit.” and it featured the rapper and her crew ridiculing, harassing, and running over a politician. While speaking to TMZ, Lorraine stated that she believes the video was directly targeted at her as a form of revenge for their past beef.
Lorraine claimed that she has been sent a lot of death threats from Megan Thee Stallion’s fans, which ultimately made her fear for her life.
“I got the whole army of Megan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B [fans] after me. There’s thousands of text messages, phone calls, emails, Instagram messages—you name it—coming after me, telling me to die, kill myself, jump off a cliff, I’m this horrible racist.
“So many different messages threatening to kill me, they were coming after my house, they knew my address. Actually, I still get a lot of those messages, too.”
She provided some of the messages, which include alleged threats to go to her house and reference the “Thot Shit” video taking aim at a politician. Others also called her out for blatant hypocrisy when white artists such as Miley Cyrus sexualize their songs and she didn’t raise any issue. Lorraine’s Twitter account was indefinitely suspended last year in September for spreading a lot of misinformation and that is likely for the best.
