The NBA regular season is over and fans are now looking toward the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, but some players won’t be making the trip. LeBron James already made a joke about being in Space Jam world during that time. Now another top player has opted out.

According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Stephen Curry has opted out of playing for Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics. A specific reason was not give, but it was expected that he would be in the available pool of players.

Warriors star Stephen Curry has opted against playing for Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics this summer, sources tell me and @anthonyVslater. Curry had been deciding on participating over the last few weeks, and USAB expected him to be out of the available pool.

We’ll have to see who represents the USA in the Tokyo Olympics. It looks like the player pool isn’t getting any more crowded. If anything, players are saying that they’re not interested in taking on the extra work.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
