Michael B. Jordan remains one of the most popular actors in Hollywood right now. The Black Panther star is also very ambitious when it comes to expanding his business ventures.
However, it seems Jordan’s latest business venture, which is called J’Ouvert Rum, landed him in hot water as he was accused of cultural appropriation. The name has caused controversy with Trinidad and Tobago nationals.
After his girlfriend Lori Harvey shared photos of the rum, there was severe backlash against her and Jordan as many complained about the slavery ties behind the name.
Now it seems Nicki Minaj decided to defend Michael B. Jordan as she took to Instagram and defended Jordan, but also asked him to change the name now that he is well aware of the background behind it.
“I’m sure MBJ didn’t intentionally do anything he thought Caribbean ppl would find offensive— but now that you are aware, change the name & continue to flourish & prosper. 🙏🏾🇹🇹 #jouvert,”
We certainly hope Michael B. Jordan decides to change up the name of his new rum in a way that will not offend Caribbean people and ultimately prosper in his new business venture.
