2016’s Suicide Squad film was written and directed by David Ayer. Despite being a Box Office success, grossing over $740 million at the worldwide box office. the film was panned by both fans and critics.
This ultimately led to James Gunn taking charge of The Suicide Squad which is said to be a ”soft reboot” of the 2016 film. The film stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, John Cena as Peacemaker and more.
James Gunn had previously revealed that the upcoming film could have multiple post-credits scenes. Recently, the latest trailer for the film dropped as well and it gave fans a very good idea of what is to come in the upcoming film.
While speaking to Comicbook.com, John Cena gave his review of The Suicide Squad after watching it for the first time. John Cena stated that fans are not ready for the film.
“You are not ready. That’s all I have to say about that and people will understand.”
Many fans are also wondering whether the film will redeem itself after the abysmal prequel movie. We will have to see how the film turns out to be as it is set to release on August 6th, 2021.
