UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman is undoubtedly one of the top fighters in the world and many consider him as the pound-for-pound world’s best fighter as well.
Usman made his debut in MMA back in 2012 against David Glover, with the fight taking place in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance 5. Usman would get a second-round TKO win in the fight.
While speaking on a recent Instagram live session, Kamaru Usman revealed that he was staggered after landing a clean punch to his opponent’s head for the first time, adding that it was the most frightening moment in his career.
“I would say my most frightening moment is my first professional fight. I didn’t do any amateur fights. I went straight from wrestling into the pros.
I hit him for the first time, and I was like ‘oh, that’s what it feels like to really hit somebody.’ It was a little weird. When you hit a human head, it’s a weird thing when you’re actually trying to hurt them. So I hit him and he was like ‘oh, man! That was weird.’ And then he hit me back and I was like ‘oh, s**t! It’s a real fight.’ I remember I got a little scared. So that was my most frightening moment.”
Kamaru Usman recently stated that he is open to facing Nate Diaz in a UFC Welterweight Championship bout in the future, should UFC executive Hunter Campbell make it happen. However, before that, it is likely he will be defending his title against Colby Covington.
