Kid Cudi Believes Kanye West Would Respect Him For His Kurt Cobain Tribute Dress On SNL

Kid Cudi is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and established rappers in the Hip-Hop world. He also has a penchant for making style statements and Cudi did just that back in April.

Kid Cudi was seen wearing a floral dress during his “Saturday Night Live” performance and this essentially broke the internet and set the social media world abuzz. The dress was a tribute to the late singer Kurt Cobain.

While speaking on HBO Max’s The Shop: Uninterrupted, Kid Cudi explained his reasoning behind the dress. Kid Cudi also believed that Kanye West would approve of his dress.

SNL comes my way, so I immediately thought like, this would be the perfect opportunity to wear a dress. But, do I go to a store and just buy something off the rack? Or do I go get somebody to make me some sh*t?”

“So, I already made my mind up years ago that I wanted to do this, and it’s cool because I’m also giving confidence to the kids and telling them to be themselves and do what they want to do.

“I don’t know, it’s not like Kanye is gonna hit me up and be like, ‘Oh, that dress was fresh. But, it’s okay, I know that Kanye sees that and he respects me for it.”

Kid Cudi has certainly shown that while he is an accomplished musician in his own right, Cudi has not forgotten those who have come before him and we certainly approve of the tributes Cudi paid during his  SNL performance, especially Kanye West.
