Nikki Bella can attest to the fact that nothing you ever say on television goes away forever. An old clip of her and sister Brie Bella slamming the late WWE Superstar went viral and now she’s apologizing.

This old clip from Joan Rivers’ Fashion Police show on E! featured the WWE Hall of Famers saying that they aren’t sure if Chyna is a male or female. Rivers then quipped back with one of her signature one-liners to say that Chyna, “is so butch her penis has a vagina.” You can check out the clip below.

The Bella Twins’ official Twitter account posted a lengthy apology post. This was directed to Chyna’s memory and all of the fans who were offended by that old Rivers clip.

“I want to sincerely apologize for a comment I made over 8 years ago on Fashion Police. I am sorry and embarrassed by my 29-year-old self, who offended Chyna and in turn, hurt her family and others. I wish I could it back. Please learn from me, it’s not worth hurting someone’s feelings for a meaningless laugh. Chyna will always be remembered as an icon and pioneer who helped create the opportunities for women in wrestling that exist today.

Thank you Chyna! – Nikki Bella”

We will have to see if this apology stops the public outcry against her after the clip resurfaces. The Bella Twins were trying to crack a joke at the time, but it did not hold up at all. Now she is embarrassed by that clip and has a lot of remorse.

Chyna’s memory will live on as plenty of fans continue defending her. She sadly did not see her name in the WWE Hall of Fame, but her legacy certainly received a rejuvenation in recent memory thanks to returning to the WWE fold.
