The 2018 film Black Panther featured Michael B. Jordan as the antagonist for the film, Killmonger and Chadwick Boseman as the titular character Black Panther. For many fans, he was a very well-written villain with proper character motivations and depth that was rarely seen in Marvel movies back then.
Despite the unfortunate passing of the late Chadwick Boseman, Marvel has decided that they will be proceeding with Black Panther 2. While many actors from the first film will be appearing in the sequel film, Michael B. Jordan is unlikely to.
The upcoming sequel is being directed by Ryan Coogler and now it seems Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has finally started production. While speaking to Variety, Kevin Feige revealed that the sequel’s production has officially started.
It’s clearly very emotional without Chad. But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.
Black Panther 2 is slated to release on Jul 08, 2022. We will have to see how the film will turn out to be without Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan.
