The long-standing rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier remains one of the most highly discussed topics in the MMA world. The Notorious One isn’t one to back down from a fight and also to spare any expenses when it comes to talking trash to his opponents.
Notorious is always open to trash talking his opponents but it seems in the past couple of years, he has not been able to back up what he’s been saying, as evident from his loss against Dustin Poirier earlier in the year.
McGregor previously mocked Dustin Poirier for grappling too much in his fights as well. Now it seems Poirier has responded to all McGregor has said. While speaking to ESPN MMA, Dustin Poirer addressed McGregor’s comments about him and stated that they reek of insecurity.
“He (Conor McGregor) just said something on ‘the first one to shoot is a dusty b***h’, that’s what he said. Isn’t he the one who’s always preaching about the flow, the full martial arts, no holds barred, no rules, the ultimate fighting like when he’s talking about boxing and stuff. How about the first one to get taken down is a dusty b***h. It reeks of insecurity to me,
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will become the definite winner and have bragging rights. McGregor has a lot riding on the fight so he can’t afford to lose it no matter what.
