Pop sensation Britney Spears is certainly a controversial figure in the music world, going back to her 2007 meltdown and her father then moving to form a conservatorship around Spears’ estate.
Britney Spears finally spoke out against her father’s conservatorship on June 23rd addressing a Los Angeles Superior Court judge via video. For a long time, Britney Spears has been working hard to get her father out of her life. Spears compared her father to a “sex trafficker” and said that “he loved” having control over her.
According to TMZ, Britney Spears’ longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, claimed that Spears wants to retire from the music industry while officially submitting his resignation.
Rudolph sent an email on Sunday night to Britney Spears’ personal conservator, Jodi Montgomery, and the conservator of her estate, Jamie Spears, where he made the claim.
“It has been over 2 1/2 years since Britney and I last communicated, at which time she informed me she wanted to take an indefinite work hiatus. Earlier today, I became aware that Britney had been voicing her intention to officially retire.
I was originally hired at Britney’s request to help manage and assist her with her career. And as her manager, I believe it is in Britney’s best interest for me to resign from her team as my professional services are no longer needed.
I will always be incredibly proud of what we accomplished over our 25 years together. I wish Britney all the health and happiness in the world, and I’ll be there for her if she ever needs me again, just as I always have been.”
If Britney Spears truly is retiring, then there certainly is no need for a manager anymore. At this point in time it is not known whether Spears will stop performing for good, but it would certainly be unfortunate if it really happens. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
