The long-standing rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier remains one of the most highly discussed topics in the MMA world. The Notorious One isn’t one to back down from a fight and also to spare any expenses when it comes to talking trash to his opponents.
Notorious is always open to trash-talking his opponents but it seems in the past couple of years, he has not been able to back up what he’s been saying, as evident from his loss against Dustin Poirier earlier in the year.
McGregor previously mocked Dustin Poirier for grappling too much in his fights as well. Poirier would fire back by stating that Conor McGregor’s comments reek of insecurity.
While speaking to TheMacLife, Conor McGregor was asked about his mindset heading into his fight against Dustin Poirier. McGregor said Poirier is a corpse and he plans on keeping Poirier in suspense of terror.
“I don’t give a fu** about him, to be honest. It’s just how I am. He’s a corpse, a dead body, a blank face that’s gonna get his a** whooped and took out on a stretcher.
You know, just focus. Keep the enemy in a suspended amount of terror. That’s it. Keep him in suspense of terror. That’s it. He paid to see my work.”
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will become the definite winner and have bragging rights. McGregor has a lot riding on the fight so he can’t afford to lose it no matter what.
