Khabib Nurmagomedov will always be regarded as one of the best UFC fighters to have competed in the MMA world. Khabib ended his career after his match against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in 2020.
Since then there had been a lot of speculation regarding him returning to the UFC as he was still undefeated, with many believing he would come back to make his record an impressive 30-0. However, Dana White had confirmed back in March that the Russian fighter has retired for good.
While speaking to BT Sport, Conor McGregor talked about Khabib Nurmagomedov, where McGregor claimed that he doesn’t care about Khabib anymore and blasted him for running away from the sport like a rat.
“I don’t really give a f**k about that guy, to be honest with you. I mean, he ran, he’s gone. What did he do? He didn’t do f**k all in the sport, in my opinion. Three wins on the trot before that he pulled out and everything. Had a little run and dipped out, showed his true character. It’s not like I wasn’t surprised, he scurried away like the little rat that he is. So I’m not even concerned.”
Those were certainly some scathing words from Conor McGregor and it is unlikely anyone will really agree with what he said as Khabib is regarded as one of the all-time greats for good reason.
