A$AP Rocky Joins Pacsun as Guest Creative Director

A$AP Rocky has not released music for a while, but it seems like he has been active pursuing many other endeavors. While he has been famously dating popstar Rihanna and running his own charity, the rapper has taken another role.

As the New York rapper has collaborated with Klarna and Bottega Veneta in huge fashion projects, it seems that the rapper has taken another step into the world of fashion by joining Pacsun on a temporary position called “Guest Creative Director.“

A$AP Rocky revealed his association with Pacsun in a press conference. The rapper went on to state that:

This partnership is special to me because it’s a collaboration that combines my roots, A$AP Worldwide, and some of the most respected heritage brands that have roots in both the sportswear and lifestyle worlds. Together with PacSun, we will be releasing several limited-edition collections that are both nostalgic and forward at the same time

Pacsun’s President Brie Olson also made a statement in the press conference, where she said that their work with the rapper has empowered Pacsun to get closer to the culture.

The design process working with Rocky has really allowed the PacSun brand, which has always been built on youth culture, to connect design innovation with what is happening from a cultural perspective and translate that into coveted unique product offerings and design collaborations for our consumer.

The rapper’s responsibilites at Pacsun will be managing the brand’s collaborations with other artists, their own branding campaigns as well as deciding what ends up in the stores and what doesn’t.
