Conor McGregor Stopped Drinking Whiskey In Preparation For UFC 264

The long-standing rivalry between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier remains one of the most highly discussed topics in the MMA world. The Notorious One isn’t one to back down from a fight and also to spare any expenses when it comes to talking trash to his opponents.

Notorious is always open to trash-talking his opponents but it seems in the past couple of years, he has not been able to back up what he’s been saying, as evident from his loss against Dustin Poirier earlier in the year

Many people are currently of the belief that Conor McGregor simply isn’t as good as he used to be, especially compared to what McGregor was a few years ago. Colby Covington also stated that McGregor no longer has any motivation in MMA.

Conor McGregor is also known to live a life of luxury and his love for whiskey is well known. However, it seems he has taken a drastic step in preparing for his UFC 264 fight against Dustin Poirier.

While speaking to Nick Walshaw, the Irishman revealed that he has not had a single drop of whiskey in the training camp while preparing for his fight against Dustin Poirier.

“I’m in a great place in body and mind. I’m taking my health very very seriously. You know I haven’t touched the most delicious Irish Whisky Proper 12 at all this camp. I haven’t actually touched it since we made the deal, upwards of $700 million that deal is worth and I haven’t celebrated it with a glass yet because I was in camp so I stayed focused. I’m excited to have a little bit of it afterwards. I’m going to enjoy it for a couple of days, it’s my birthday week also.”

McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 10th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will ultimately come out on top.
