Georges St-Pierre is undoubtedly one of the most popular and legendary fighters in the entire MMA world. The UFC Hall Of Famer was at the top of his game back in 2013, but would leave the company for a few years, which shocked many.
Georges St-Pierre made his return to the UFC back in 2016 where he faced off against Michael Bisping in a different weight class. Georges St-Pierre would hang up his gloves for good in 2019, bringing an end to a legendary career.
Being a veteran, there is no doubt his opinion carries a lot of weight when it comes to the MMA world. While speaking to BET99, Georges St-Pierre shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.
Georges St-Pierre said that if Conor McGregor loses to Dustin Poirier again, then it could mean the end of Conor McGregor as far as being the best fighter in the world and star-power are concerned.
“I think it’s do or die, guys. I truly believe, last time he lost, I believe Conor is very good at adapting. He’s a true champion. He has got a very strong mind. However, if he lose this one again, it could be the end for him. Not maybe the end of his career, but the end in terms of his star-power perhaps, in terms of how seriously he’s taken in the sport. Because he claims he’s the best fighter in the world, but if he loses this one, he will know and everybody else will know that this is not true.”
McGregor is certainly focused on his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 on July 11th in their third fight together. Both of them currently have a win over the other, so we will have to see who will become the definite winner and have bragging rights. McGregor has a lot riding on the fight so he can’t afford to lose it no matter what.
