Conor McGregor’s leg broke at the end of the first round of the UFC 264 main event. He needed surgery to repair that break, and after 3.5 hours under the knife, Notorious is all fixed up. Now he needs to heal up.

According to TMZ Sports, McGregor had surgery to repair his fibula today and now he has some new hardware in his leg. They planted screws and plates to hold things in place for hm.

Dr. Ellatrache, head of Sports Trauma at Cedars, and trauma orthopedic surgeon Milton Little did the procedure. It was said to have gone “very well.”

This was a gruesome leg injury and it only irritated the Irishman more. He sat on the mat with Joe Rogan and vented in classic Notorious fashion after his doctor’s stoppage loss against Dustin Poirier. The two will meet again in the Octagon whenever McGregor is ready.

There is no return timeframe for McGregor’s return as of this writing. The damage is fixed, so at least he’s headed in the right direction.
