Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s intense rivalry reached a boiling point and it culminated in the main event of 264, as both competitors were out looking for blood.
In their third fight together, the expectations were certainly high as fans wanted to see who would end up becoming the winner. However, the ending to the match was certainly a shocking one.
After the dust settled, Conor McGregor fractured his ankle at the end of the first round and Dustin Poirier was declared the winner via TKO after the fight ended due to doctor’s stoppage.
In the lead-up to UFC 264, Conor McGregor claimed he would send Dustin Poirier out on a stretcher. In a case of pure irony, it was McGregor who had to be stretchered out after the fight.
The irony was most certainly not lost on Khabib Nurmagomedov, who took to Twitter and clowned Conor McGregor in a way only he knows how.
The way he said it
There is certainly no love lost between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, which is why a comment such as this was not surprising. For now, Conor McGregor will have to reevaluate what he does and lick his wounds.
