Warner Bros. Games has been exposed to certain rumors about their offloading of NetherRealm Studios and TT Games development teams. However, it seems the company has had enough and now wishes to clear the air.
As TheGamer reported that WB’s sale of its interactive studios is imminent, to which similar reports date back to June 2020, Warner Bros representative Remi Sklar reached out to them to reveal that nothing of the similar nature will be happening.
I can confirm NetherRealm Studios and TT Games will continue to remain a part of Warner Bros. Games, and all are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger.
However, the subsequent merger of Warner Bros and Discovery certainly indicates that AT&T has big plans for Warner Bros and Discovery in the future. Windows Central journalist Jez Corden revealed on the Xbox Two podcast that he has seen documents indicating that WB doesn’t consider the two studios the part of its portfolio.
Last year, similar reports had taken root in the idea that perhaps Warner Bros. parent company AT&T might be interested in clearing its multi-billion dollar debt by selling off WB Interactive Entertainment.
