Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is one of the all-time greats in the world of professional basketball. James suffered a very nasty injury to his right ankle in the Lakers’ game against the Atlanta Hawks back in March and despite making a return, James simply hasn’t been the same since the injury.
While LeBron James certainly has seen better days, it does not really blemish his legacy as LeBron James remains in the discussion of the greatest basketball player of all time regardless.
While speaking on the “SmartLess” podcast with celebrity hosts Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes, LeBron James talked about his career as a basketball player. James revealed that he wants to retire as a member of the Lakers.
“I truly hope that I can finish my career with the Lakers. However many years that is, if it’s four, five, six, whatever, seven, I hope I can continue to play the game. I love being in L.A., my family loves being in L.A. Being with a historical franchise like the Lakers is something… It’s like me being in ‘Space Jam’ — I never thought it would be possible. You think about Kareem, and Magic, and Wilt, and Jerry West and Elgin Baylor, Kobe, Shaq and all of them, the whole list goes on.”
As per his current contract, LeBron James is linked to the Lakers through the 2022-23 season and will be 38 by the time it expires. We will have to wait and see when LeBron James will eventually end his career.
