Mark Wahlberg is known for his fitness-heavy lifestyle, but in order to prepare for a role in the upcoming movie ‘Stu’ the actor had to consume a whopping 11,000-calories a day.
The Pain & Gain star revealed that he had been eating so much that he was gaining at least 20 pounds in every three weeks. While normal people don’t have the capacity to pull off this kind of diet, Wahlberg again did the impossible.
Unfortunately, I had to consume, for two weeks, 7,000 calories, and then for another two weeks, 11,000 calories. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The actor went on to say that it was one of the hardest things he has ever done. e said that it was “a hard, physical thing to do,” often requiring sheer force of will to make the ends meet.
Losing weight, you just kind of tough it out — you just don’t eat, and exercise. nd this, even when you’re full, I would wake up after a meal and have another meal. I was eating every three hours. It was not fun.
He also revealed that after one ages, it’s rather hard to lose and gain weight that easily. The actor, who recently turned 50, went through the stress of completely recomposing his body because he was doing it on his own dime.
Once the metabolism starts to slow down, it gets really difficult. I was trying to get this movie made for six years — we only had 30 days to shoot it — and so, I wanted to really make it happen.
The actor has played roles with a lot of concise physical requirements as well. He played Micky Ward in The Fighter alongside Christian Bale in 2010, and he also played an American Intelligence Officer in Mile 22.
