Tom Brady departed from New England and left for Tampa Bay. Some fans are still sore about seeing Brady trade his Patriots jersey for one with a Buccaneer on it, but the Pats don’t plan on treating him any different from any other opponent.

Byron Cowart spoke to the Patriots Way of Life podcast recently where he went into Brady’s return. This will be different, because he’s coming back as an opponent. That being said, they’re not going to go easy on him or throw the GOAT QB “any damn ceremony.”

“He’s done a lot of things for this organization,” prefaced Cowart on the before drawing a definitive line in the sand. “He’s coming back, but he’s coming back as an opponent, so I’m going to treat it like any opponent. We ain’t welcoming him, we just got to play him. There ain’t going to be no damn ceremony for him or nothing like that.”

“They might clap for him, but there’s not going to be no — bro, this is our opponent. Bro, what? We like to win.”

Plenty of fans will pay close attention to New England vs Tampa Bay. Odds are Brady will have a long game, because the Patriots fans could be even more brutal to him than the actual team on the gridiron. This will undoubtedly be a huge ratings draw just to see how that showdown will transpire.
