Pro wrestling hasn’t received a lot of love out of their niche fan base, but Starz’s series “Heels” paints the pro wrestling world in a much different way. Season two is on the way and this first look is exciting.
Stephen Amell, Alexander Ludwig, Alison Luff, and James Harrison are all returning for season two of the Starz show. They will hold a world premiere screening in New York at the 92nd Street Y. That cultural hub of NYC will certainly be booming on July 29th as the forthcoming series debuts.
Official promotional material for the show hypes the next season of Heels as it prepares to take fans behind the scenes of small town pro wrestling.
“Set in a tightly-knit Georgia community and telling the story of two brothers (played by Amell and Ludwig) chasing their dreams of becoming professional wrestlers and the people in their orbit, Heels is a gripping drama that tells the story of small town America like nothing else. Hear them discuss the making of the show — their intensive training, blurring the line between heroes and villains (or “heels,” as they’re called in the wrestling world), stories from behind the scenes, and more.”
Amell plays Jack Spade, the heel brother of the two. The series revolves around the two brothers as they maintain life in and out of the ring. Often times that can be a very tricky task to accomplish.
CM Punk also filmed for the upcoming season. He will be in, at least, one episode. He wasn’t featured in the trailer that we could see, but it is still a very well put together video that is sure to get fans hyped for the next season.
