Lil Nas X is currently one of the most highly-discussed rappers in the music industry, but not all of it is for reasons he would like. His latest “MONTERO (Call My By Your Name)” music video made him a huge subject of controversy as he could be seen giving a lap dance to Lucifer in the video.
On top of that his custom made ‘Satan Shoes’ caused quite an outrage as well. Now it seems the singer will be appearing before a court to face Nike in a lawsuit.
Lil Nas X recently uploaded a TikTok video on July 16 where Lil Nas X tried to do a dance for the camera but just couldn’t keep it together. The singer revealed that he will be appearing before a court on Monday for it lawsuit.
“When you have court on Monday over satan shoes and might go to jail but your label keeps telling you to make TikTok videos.”
The ongoing controversy started in March when the singer and clothing company MSCHF unveiled its customized Nike’s classic Air Max ’97s collaboration, which contained 66 CCs of red ink and one drop of human blood in its sole.
After an outrage, Lil Nas X offered an ‘apology’ that wasn’t one at all. Nike eventually filed a lawsuit against the MSCHF for trademark infringement due to the fact the iconic Nike Swoosh logo was prominently featured on X’s customized versions. Nike was able to prevent the future sales of the shoes as well.
We will have to wait and see just what will transpire during the court hearing on Monday.
