Man of Steel came out in 2013, and it was the first film in the DC Snyderverse. After he left the DCEU and left things to the devices of Warner Bros, there’s a lot of turbulence going on with who’s slated to play the next Superman.

While Henry Cavill is considered a monumental Superman by DCEU fans for his work in MoS, Batman V Superman and Justice League, there were rumors surrounding the role going off in the hands of Creed star Michael B. Jordan.

DCEU screenwriter David S. Goyer, who was behind the script of Man of Steel stated that it’s entirely possible that Henry Cavill might come on board for Man of Steel 2, but also admitted that things might not go that way.

I think so. I’m not involved in it right now. I’ve heard the same rumors you’ve heard, but I’m not plugged into it. I’ve stepped away almost entirely from comic book-related projects other than Sandman, which I don’t really categorize as part of the normal DC universe.

While Goyer may not be fully on-board with Man of Steel 2, he’s still a legend of the superhero movie genre, having penned down The Dark Knight Trilogy, Blade Trilogy, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, and is currently working on the small screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman.
