Everyone’s favorite serial killer doll Chucky is set to make his small screen debut with the series named Chucky. It has started production and is slated to release this Fall on Syfy.’
Before this series, Don Mancini’s Chucky movie called Cult of Chucky was released in 2017. It was the second of two instalments that had direct-to-video releases, with 2013’s Curse of Chucky being the first.
The upcoming TV series is likely to be connected to the original films. The series is slated to be 10 episodes long and will return to the franchise’s roots. Fans of the original franchise are no doubt eagerly waiting for its release.
Cult of Chucky ended on a cliffhanger with Chucky possessing Nica and escaping the asylum with Jennifer Tilly’s Tiffany. During “The Legacy of Chucky” panel for Comic-Con@Home, it was confirmed that the upcoming TV series will be taking place after Cult of Chucky‘s ending.
Chucky the series picks up after Nica, Chucky, and Tiffany have left the insane asylum. And they’re having a great time.”
It was previously revealed that Chucky will be allowed to swear quite a lot during each episode of the show. On top of that, it will also explore the origins of Charles Lee Ray.
Several plot details for the upcoming 10-episode horror series was previously revealed as well. From what it seems, the series is certain to be a hit with fans of the franchise. The series will start airing on Syfy on October 12 and we will have to see whether it lives up to expectations or not.
