Britney Spears’ Mother Blasts Conservatorship In Court Declaration

Pop sensation Britney Spears is certainly a controversial figure in the music world, going back to her 2007 meltdown and her father then moving to form a conservatorship around Spears’ estate.

Britney Spears finally spoke out against her father’s conservatorship on June 23rd addressing a Los Angeles Superior Court judge via video. For a long time, Britney Spears has been working hard to get her father out of her life. Spears compared her father to a “sex trafficker” and said that “he loved” having control over her.

According to court documentation obtained by HollywoodLife, Britney Spears’ mother Lynne Spears has argued in support of Jamie Spears being replaced by Jason Rubin. Lynne argued in a court declaration that the move is needed as the relationship between father and daughter has “dwindled to nothing but fear and hatred” since the conservatorship was enacted in 2008.

Lynne stated that those feelings stemmed from Jamie’s alleged “complete control over” Britney Spears. She then blamed her ex-husband’s “mistrust” of his 39-year-old daughter, including his alleged “coercion of her, his ‘bartering’ with her over what she can and cannot do for whatever reward or punishment he is willing to mete out, his constant threats, and his decision-making over all aspects of her life.”

Lynne further stated that she became a participant of the conservatorship in May 2019 during a “time of crisis” aa she wanted to “ensure that everything in my daughter’s life was handled in the best interests of my daughter the conservatee, which I did not believe at the time (and I still do not today) to be the case.”

Lynne ended it by stating that Jamie “is incapable” of putting Britney’s “interests ahead of his own on both a professional and a personal level” — and “his being and remaining a conservator” of Britney’s estate “is not in the best interests” of her daughter.

We sincerely hope Britney Spears’ conservatorship nightmare ends and she can go back to having a normal life soon enough.
