Tom Brady broke the hearts of New England fans everywhere when he ditched the Patriots for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s still with the Buccs and in search for his second Super Bowl ring. Matt Damon is a proud Bostonian, but that loyalty might stop on the gridiron.
While speaking to the Dan Patrick Show, Matt Damon confirmed that he will root for Tom Brady in next season’s game against his old team, in fact, the same stands true if the Buccaneers ever face the Patriots in the NFL’s big game as well.
“Apologist? Listen, I love that guy, I make no apologies,” Damon said when Dan Patrick called him a “Tom Brady apologist” in his introduction. Then Damon went on to confirm that he would root for Brady in even the most important situations.
Dan Patrick upped the stakes and asked, “if the Buccs play the Patriots in the Super Bowl, who do you pick?” It didn’t take Damon but a moment to reply, “Tom Brady.”
It seems that Tom Brady will get Damon’s fandom, no matter where he’s playing. It’s good to have fans like that, especially Oscar-winners. This comes even after Jimmy Kimmel was able to get the GOAT QB to vandalize Matt Damon’s home.
