Cain Velasquez, two-time UFC heavyweight champion, had an incredibly short run with WWE. In fact, he only had one real match on television where Brock Lesnar defeated him in Saudi Arabia. Then Velasquez was released from the company early on in the pandemic. Now he is making his return to the ring.

Velasquez’s first few matches were with AAA, arguable Mexico’s largest pro wrestling company. He also wrestled under a lucha libre mask. Now he is set to make a return to the ring.

The Corner with Cyrus Fees program recently spoke to Velasquez where he revealed that a AAA return is happening in December.

I’m doing a show in December for AAA. I love AAA and I’m going to keep doing that right now. I love WWE as well, but I have to first develop myself in order for me to go out there. I’m going to keep doing stuff and have fun with it.

We will have to see if WWE ever calls him again, but that ship might have sailed. Brock Lesnar isn’t in the company anymore either, so that eliminates a rematch possibility. Cain Velasquez obviously still loves pro wrestling and he will continue that journey in AAA, for now.

Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
