John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. From 2017 John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood.
Cena made his return at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view last week and since then has appeared on both Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown.
Perhaps the most shocking thing to come from his return was Cena being cheered by the majority of fans after he came back. It seems Cena feels the same way as well.
While speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, John Cena admitted that he isn’t used to being cheered by the majority of the WWE Universe since Cena came back to the company.
“I’m not used to that. Usually the arenas, half of the people, or more, are telling me that I suck and half of the people are saying, ‘Let’s go Cena.’ So I was kind of expecting that. I’ve been curtailing off my number of performances for WWE for the last few years now because I’ve been filming all these projects, but I didn’t expect the shift to be that much. I think that’s because it was a genuine surprise.”
So far, Cena has competed in four untelevised matches since his return to WWE. We will have to wait and see how his match against Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam will be booked as we approach the pay-per-view.
