Lollapalooza is going down and many huge acts showed up to entertain the fans. Fred Durst was there with his white hair and beard to pull off a 2021 look nobody saw coming. Megan Thee Stallion was also able to link up with WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in the meantime. DaBaby was supposed to be there, but the festival cut him.
DaBaby made headlines with his homophobic and sexist comments during Rolling Loud. Obviously, Lollapalooza didn’t want to run the same risk. The festival made the official announcement to inform fans that DaBaby is off Lollapalooza’s Sunday night lineup.
Lollapalooza was founded on diversity, inclusivity, respect, and love. With that in mind, DaBaby will no longer be performing at Grant Park tonight. Young Thug’s performance will now take place at 9:00pm on the Bud Light Seltzer Stage, and G Herbo will perform at 4:00pm on the T-Mobile Stage.
In case you missed it, DaBaby said on microphone at Rolling Loud, “If you didn’t show up today with HIV, AIDS, or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases, that’ll make you die in two to three weeks, then put your cellphone lighter up. Ladies, if your p*ssy smell like water, put your cellphone light in the air. Fellas, if you ain’t sucking d*ck in the parking lot, put your cellphone lighter up.”
Since that controversial statement, DaBaby has been dropped by sponsors. Also, other artists, including Chris Brown, have distanced themselves from him. T.I. is one of the few who have stood behind what he said.
DaBaby did “apologize,” but many read that as a means to excuse himself in the process. It turns out that you can’t say whatever you want in front of 200,000 people and expect for nobody to hear you.
What’s your take on cancelling DaBaby? Sound off in the comments!
