SNL alum Horatio Sanz is under fire as accusations of sexual assault of an underage superfan have emerged. This is not a good look as it was reported that fellow cast members looked the other way while it went down.
This alleged assault occured during a Saturday Night Live afterparty when an unnamed Pennsylvania teen, who was 17 during the incident, ran an SNL fan site in May 2002. This is when Sanz allegedly took her on a limo ride and “digitally penetrated her genitals” during the afterparty. A lawsuit has now been filed with the Manhattan Supreme Court.
In court documents, it is stated that they met with she was 15 and Sanz was 31. He invited her to a taping of the sketch comedy show. The next year, she was at a few SNL afterparties and he allowed her to drink alcohol. Sanz also allegedly touched her in ways such as having her sit on his lap.
Sanz allegedly used the handle “Marblechomper” on instant messanger and offered her tickets to SNL tapings. He also leaked SNL information about hosts and musical guests for her fan site.
It is also alleged in court documents that he asked for nude photos of her and also requested her to “perform sexual acts, including masturbation, which he asked her to describe to him.” This allegedly went on for years, according to the lawsuit.
“Sanz exchanged messages with [the teen] and steered conversations to discuss sex, sexual experiences, sexual activities, sexual fantasies, masturbation,” the lawsuit stated, and he would call her names like “slut,” “slutty” and “bitch.”
Sanz allegedly later “admitted and bragged to [her] that he masturbated during these conversations.” The lawsuit also stated that she partied with Jimmy Fallon in September 2001 along with other NBC higher-ups. Fallon is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit.
“Plaintiff sat with Jimmy Fallon and others in a VIP area, ordered and consumed a Budweiser beer in the presence of NBC/SNL employees.”
In 2002, Sanz allegedly took part in actions which included “kissing her, groping her breasts, groping her buttocks, and digitally penetrating her genitals forcibly and without [her] consent.” One patron at the drug-filled party allegedly asked Sanz, “Are you f—ing serious?” Nothing was done to stop it though.
The victim became depressed in high school and experienced mental trauma as a result of these alleged actions from Sanz. Now the woman is seeking unspecified damages, according to the suit, which also noted she is a “victim of child sexual abuse” who suffered “psychological and emotional harm.”
Sanz spokesman, Andrew Brettler, has already spoken out and he called this story “ludicrous.” He also claimed that she tried to hold them up for $7.5 million in exchange for silence.
“However often she repeats her ludicrous allegations or tries to rope in other high-profile names to generate media attention, they will always be false. Before filing this lawsuit anonymously, she demanded $7.5 million in exchange for her silence. We, of course, refused and will vigorously contest these totally meritless claims.”
Reps for NBC and Jimmy Fallon have not commented on the allegations. We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Thirsty.
