Wild ‘N Out lets their performers cut loose and get quite edgy at times. That philosophy recently took a turn for the worse as a Whitney Houston joke stirred up quite a bit of controversy.

Jessie Woo is a popular performer on Wild ‘N Out, but her Whitney Houston bit did not hit a homerun with fans. She actually got a ton of hate in the process.

The segment on the show consisted of comedians creating outgoing voice messages while impersonating famous people, and Jessie decided to go with the late singer. Her impression of “I Will Always Love You,” included new lyrics and then she said: “I’m dead,” before walking off.

The crowd was stunned, to say the least. They couldn’t believe that she took the shot for the sake of getting some kind of shock humor out of things. Some called her insensitive and offensive.

TMZ recently spoke to the Wild ‘N Out performer and she is sticking to her guns. Jessie posted a tribute video to Whitney on her Instagram story a couple of days ago as well on what would have been the singer’s 58th birthday. She is a big fan, and was just trying to have some fun in a mature setting.

Jessie has a great singing voice, but her taste in humor might need some work. You can check out the controversial clip and her response below.

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
