Charles Barkley is a true legend in the world of professional basketball as an 11-time NBA All-Star, an 11-time member of the All-NBA Team and also the 1993 NBA Most Valuable Player. He is currently an analyst on Inside the NBA and has played against the best of the best the sport has to offer, including Michael Jordan.
Fans are well aware of the relationship between former friends Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan. Barkley ultimately ruined the friendship with Jordan after criticizing him over the years. Barkley has also taken responsibility for what happened between the two. While speaking to Back on the Record with Bob Costas, Charles Barkley discussed his broken relationship with the NBA legend.
Charles Barkley admitted that he loves Michael Jordan and really misses him. Barkley stated that it was painful to lose Jordan as a friend as well.
“We’re not friends. And I take some responsibility for that. I criticized him, he was one of my best friends and I definitely love him and miss him but I, Bob, I have to do my job.
I said, ‘I don’t know if Michael’s ever going to be successful because I don’t know if he can get enough strong people around him. It was painful to lose him as a friend but when I said it at the time, it was true. Whether I was right or wrong, That’s debatable
Charles Barkley might take responsibility for what happened ut it is also true that he hopes one day he can reconcile with Michael Jordan. We certainly wonder if that will ever happen.
