Jason Momoa’s role as Aquaman/Arthur Curry received a tremendous reception, both critically and commercially. It was also touted as one of the best films produced under the DCEU banner. The sequel to the film, Aquaman 2, will see Momoa reprise his role as Arthur Curry. Momoa also recently paid tribute to a young fan who lost his life to cancer.
While Momoa certainly made a name for himself as an actor, it seems he is not inclined to have his children follow in his footsteps. He has two children, Lola, 14, and Nakoa Wolf, 12, and Aquaman wants to watch out for his offspring.
While speaking with ET, Jason Momoa revealed that he has no intention of ever having his children become actors. He also stated that he will try his hardest to ensure they never follow in his footsteps.
I love storytelling, I love theatrical things, I like directing and filmmaking, but I just want them to, you know, really to go for other things. If they [really] want to, maybe. But I don’t want them to get into acting. It’s very hard on people and I don’t want them to have that pressure. I’m tough, I can handle it, but I wouldn’t want to put someone I love [through] that.
As for Aquaman 2, the film is slated to release in December of 2022 and we will have to see if it will far surpass the original in every way. We’ll have to see if Jason Momoa’s children are eventually bit by the acting bug, but their father doesn’t seem to be about that at all.
