Halle Berry is certainly a veteran actress in Hollywood and remains one of the most recognizable actresses in the industry. She also doesn’t take flak from anyone.
Now it seems Halle Berry landed herself in hot water as she is currently facing a lawsuit. According to legal documentation obtained by TMZ, former UFC fighter Cat Zingano filed a lawsuit against Berry, claiming Halle offered her a movie role but was ultimately nixed.
Cat Zingano claimed she met with Halle back in July, 2019 to talk about a movie Berry was directing. The movie in question was called “Bruised” and it was claimed that Berry told Zingano she was perfect for the role. It was further claimed that Berry told Zingano to keep her schedule clear because film production was on the horizon.
However, the UFC then gave Zingano a huge fight offer. Zingano claimed she spoke to Berry about the fight offer and claimed that Halle Berry advised her to skip the fight if she wanted to be in the film, citing liability concerns from the movie’s insurer.
Zingano agonized over the decision and in the end, she turned down the fight offer. After that Zingano was released from her UFC contract. According to the suit, Cat claimed informed Berry of her decision not to fight and her subsequent release from the UFC. Cat claimed she was shocked and dismayed when Halle told her she could no longer be involved in the movie because she was no longer fighting in the UFC.
Zingano claimed she was told the movie could only work with UFC fighters. The current Bellator fighter added that Halle has cut off all communications from her and now she is suing for damages, claiming she relied on Halle’s promise and ended up suffering in the process.
