Dwayne Johnson’s name is guaranteed to bring big money, but he doesn’t come cheap. His upcoming “Red One” film will land The Rock $50 million for his part.
Variety reports that The Rock was paid $30 million up front and he will get another $20 off the backend of the upcoming Amazon Studios film. Johnson has been on a huge streak in recent memory with Jungle Cruise, Jumanji, Hobbs & Shaw, and more. This drove up his value to an incredibly high level and it shows with this upcoming film.
In late June, Johnson inked a deal to star in the Amazon Studios’ original film Red One. The project will also reunite Johnson with Fast & Furious writer Chris Morgan. Seven Bucks Productions is also on board to produce the upcoming film for Amazon Studios.
Red One is not to be confused with Red Notice, The Rock’s Netflix film. That Netflix movie is slated to be the largest their studio has ever created, and The Rock commanded a huge portion of that budget for his salary.
Just to compare, Robert Pattinson is making $3 million to play Batman in the new DC film. We’re guessing that The Rock’s Black Adam payday makes that number look like an allowance.
